Privacy policy

How we use the details you send us when you plan a trip, and what this website does in your browser. Last updated 30 October 2026.

The short version

  • We use what you send us to answer you, plan and quote your trip, and arrange the services you book.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
  • We send marketing emails only if you sign up for them, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
  • This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time: email info@manitontours.com.

1. Who we are

This website is run by Maniton for Tourism (مانيتون للسياحة), a joint stock company trading as Maniton Tours. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy (in European law, we are the “controller”).

We are on the Egyptian Commercial Register (no. 307935, Cairo Investment Registry), licensed by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism (license no. 1034) and an IATA accredited agency (90257871). See our registrations and credentials.

Address: 43 Mohamed Farid Street, Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt. Email: info@manitontours.com. Phone: +20 2 2644 8181 (Sunday to Thursday, 9am–6pm Cairo time).

2. What we collect and why

We collect what you type into our forms or send us directly. Each form asks only for what we need for that request; fields marked optional can be left empty.

Email sign-up
(welcome offer)
Your email address, your first name if you give it, and your agreement to receive our marketing emails, with a record of when and where you gave it. To send the emails you signed up for (see section 9).

Your visit summary

When you send any of these forms, it also carries a short summary of your visit, which your browser keeps until then: the pages of this site you viewed in this visit, the tours you looked at, roughly how long you spent, the page you arrived on, the website that sent you (if your browser passes this on), any campaign tag in the link you followed, and when the visit began, with a simple interest score worked out from these. We use it to understand what you are interested in, so our reply fits, and to learn which pages and campaigns bring us enquiries. If you never send a form, the summary never leaves your browser.

When you book

To arrange a booked trip we ask, by email, for what our suppliers need: for example full names as in passports, passport details, nationality, dates of birth, flight details and room preferences. Please do not send passport numbers or payment card details through the website forms; we will tell you how to send booking documents.

Health, mobility and dietary needs

If you choose to tell us about mobility, health, dietary or accessibility needs, we use this only to arrange suitable services, and share it only with the suppliers who need it, such as a hotel, guide or driver. Where European law applies, we rely on your explicit consent for this, and you can withdraw it at any time.

When you contact us directly

If you email, call or message us, we receive what you send and the email address or phone number you use. Messages sent by WhatsApp are carried by WhatsApp under its own terms.

What we do not collect

No payment card details are entered on this site. You pay either in advance, as set out in your written quotation, or on arrival in Egypt, in cash or by card. Online payment is not offered on this site at present; if we add it, it will be handled on the payment provider’s own secure page, and we will name the provider here first. We do not collect your precise location.

The suppliers who provide your trip, once you book: hotels, Nile cruise boats, airlines, guides, drivers and local partners receive the details they need to provide their part of it. We share information with public authorities only where the law requires it, for example for hotel guest registration.

Professional advisers and authorities, such as our lawyers, accountants and auditors, or a court or authority, where we need to comply with the law or to establish or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

5. Where your information is handled

Our team works in Egypt, so the information you send us is read and used in Egypt, where personal data is protected by the Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020). The service providers listed in section 3 store or process it in the United States and other countries.

If you are in Europe: Egypt and the United States are outside the European Economic Area, and the European Commission has not decided that Egypt’s laws give the same level of protection as European law. When we pass your information to our service providers, we rely on the safeguards they offer, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or, for providers certified under it, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Sharing your details with hotels and other suppliers in Egypt is part of arranging the trip you ask for. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

How long each kind of information is kept
InformationHow long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking (trip requests, questions, messages)24 months after our last contact with you, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back to us. Then deleted.
Bookings: what was booked, who traveled, invoices, payments and the related emailsAs long as Egyptian tax and accounting law requires us to keep them. Then deleted.
Passport details and copiesNo longer than 12 months after your trip ends, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
Marketing email listUntil you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a “do not email” list, so we do not email you again by mistake.
Information kept in your browserSee section 10.

7. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you and send you a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
  • delete your information;
  • stop or limit how we use it, or object to a use based on our legitimate interests;
  • send it to you, or to another company, in a common electronic format;
  • withdraw your consent, for example to marketing emails. This does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

How to ask: email info@manitontours.com, ideally from the address you used with us, with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may ask you to confirm that it is you. It is free. We reply within one month (45 days for requests under US state laws) and tell you if we need longer and why. Some records we must keep by law, such as booking and tax records, even if you ask us to delete them; if that applies, we will tell you.

Complaints: please tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are in Europe, you can also complain to your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL). In Egypt, the authority is the Personal Data Protection Center.

8. Notice for US residents, including California

Some US state laws, such as California’s, give residents specific rights and require this notice. We honor the requests below from any US visitor.

What we collect (in the last 12 months, and now):

  • Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, IP address.
  • Customer records: details you give us to arrange travel, such as passport details once you book.
  • Commercial information: the trips and services you ask about or book, and any budget range you choose.
  • Internet activity on this site: your visit summary (pages viewed, time spent, how you arrived), sent only with a form.
  • Sensitive personal information, only if you give it to us: passport details, and health or mobility needs. We use it only to provide the travel you ask for, and not to infer anything about you.

Where it comes from: from you, and from your browser when you use this site. Why: as described in section 2. Who receives it: the service providers and travel suppliers in section 3, for those purposes only. How long: see section 6.

No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the last 12 months. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Because there is no sale or sharing, there is nothing for an opt-out or a Global Privacy Control signal to switch off on this site. We do not give personal information to other companies for their own direct marketing.

Your rights: to know what we collect, use and disclose; to get a copy; to correct it; to delete it; to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we already limit it as described above); and not to be treated differently for using any of these rights. You can also ask someone you authorize to make a request for you; we may ask for proof of that authorization. To make a request, see section 7.

9. Marketing emails

We send marketing emails, such as travel ideas, offers and news, only to people who have signed up for them by ticking the box on our sign-up form. Sending us an enquiry or booking a trip does not sign you up. We keep a record of when and where you signed up, as evidence of your agreement.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and our postal address. You can also unsubscribe by replying “unsubscribe” or by emailing info@manitontours.com. We act on it promptly, and always within 10 business days. Unsubscribing does not stop the emails we need to send about an enquiry in progress or a trip you have booked.

10. Cookies and browser storage

This website does not set cookies of its own, and it runs no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. It does use your browser’s storage for the small things below. They stay on your device, and are sent to us only where stated.

What this site keeps in your browser
WhatWhat it is forHow long
Trip-form draft
session storage, mt-trip-draft
Keeps what you have typed in the trip form, so it is not lost if you look at another page before sending. Deleted when you send the form or close the tab.
Visit summary
session storage, mt_visit
Your visit summary. Sent to us only together with a form you send. Deleted when you close the tab.
Welcome-offer note
local storage, mt-offer-seen and mt-offer-joined
Remembers when you closed the welcome-offer pop-up, so it is not shown again for 14 days. If you sign up, it keeps the date and your first name, so this browser can show you your code again and add it to the trip form when you send one. Until you clear this site’s data in your browser.

Other services that load on our pages (listed in section 3) receive your IP address when they supply a typeface, photo or the film’s still picture. YouTube may set cookies once you press play. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor is not an automated program. You can remove anything this site has stored by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

11. Children

This site is meant for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 16. Parents and guardians planning a family trip may give us children’s ages and, when booking, their names and passport details; we use these only to arrange the trip, for example for child prices, rooms and car seats. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

12. Keeping it safe

This site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and forms travel over an encrypted connection to the form service, which emails them to our company mailbox. Access to that mailbox is limited to our staff. We never ask for card numbers on this site. No system is completely secure; if a security problem affected your information, we would tell you, and the authorities, where the law requires it.

14. Changes to this policy

We update this page when what we do changes, and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, for example for marketing, we will tell you and, where the law requires it, ask for your agreement first.
