Egypt visa for US citizens, and how we meet you at the airport
Arrival is where a trip either starts well or starts badly. On every private itinerary we run, someone from our team is waiting for you before you reach immigration.
Do American travelers need a visa for Egypt?
Yes. Most US passport holders can get a tourist visa on arrival at Egyptian airports, or apply in advance through Egypt's official e-Visa portal. Both routes are straightforward. Once your dates are confirmed we send you current, specific instructions rather than general advice — requirements do change. Our travel FAQ covers the e-Visa portal, the 30-day stay and passport validity.
What is meet and greet, exactly?
A member of our team meets you inside the terminal, before passport control. They handle the visa formality with you, walk you through immigration and baggage, and hand you to your driver outside. You don't wait in line alone or negotiate with anyone.
Is it included or extra?
Included on every private itinerary, both arrival and departure, at no separate charge. It can also be booked on its own if you're traveling independently and only want the airport handled, with or without a private airport transfer.
What about domestic flights inside Egypt?
Same arrangement at Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Someone meets each domestic leg so you're never working out a strange airport on your own.
Can you help with passport or entry questions?
We'll tell you what we know and point you to the official source. We don't give immigration advice we're not qualified to give — for anything unusual in your situation, the Egyptian consulate is the right authority.
